Description

Dyer's Farmhouse is a house, formerly a farmhouse, dating to the 17th century. It is constructed of colourwashed rendered rubble with some cob in the upper parts, and has a corrugated asbestos roof. The house has rubble stack at the left gable end with a moulded cap, extended in brick, and a lateral rubble stack to the rear heating hall, both with offsets. The plan originally comprised a 3-cell cross passage, with a former dairy at the lower end. The house is two storeys high. It features four 20th-century 2-light casements on each floor, and an offset 20th-century door. The roof timbers have been replaced. Internally, there is a chamfered beam with run-out stops to the hall, and a hearth lintel. Both fireplaces contain bread ovens. An original spice cupboard is located to the left of the fireplace at the upper end.
