Description
This building is a cartshed or stable located 15 meters northwest of Upcott Farmhouse. It dates from the late 18th century and is constructed of stone rubble with a half-hipped slate roof. The structure has two storeys at the front but is built into a bank, which means there is no rear access. The original facade was symmetrical, featuring a window and door beneath flat dressed stone arches on either side of a central window. To the left, a heavy timber lintel has been inserted to create a wider opening. Stone steps on the right provide access to the gable end of the loft, which has a row of ventilation holes interrupted by three window openings. This building is included for its group value.
