Description

The limekiln, dating from the 19th century, is located on the north side of Croyde Beach. It is constructed from stone rubble and features stone capping. The structure is built into a bank to facilitate top filling and has three open sides with corbelled stone roofs over shaped chambers. A timber lintel supports four vertical stone capping courses, and the external corners of the limekiln are rounded. There are raking holes, and the interior is well infilled.
