Description
Manor Cottage is a house with origins dating back to the 16th century, possibly earlier, that has been extended and remodeled in the 20th century. It is constructed from rendered rubble and cob, topped with a thatch roof featuring gable ends. The building has an axial stone stack with a drip, which has been heightened in brick, and a lateral rubble stack at the rear. The layout consists of a 3-cell through passage plan, with the stack backing onto the passage.
To the right rear, there is a 20th-century two-storey right-angled extension, creating an L-shape, along with a further single-storey extension with a flat roof in the angle. The cottage is 1½ storeys high and has a three-window range, all featuring 20th-century fenestration with flat pointed arches for each light. The upper windows are adorned with hipped eyebrow dormer roofs. An off-centre porch includes a 20th-century glazed door and a thatched canopy that matches the style of the house. A rounded bread oven projects to the left and is capped with slate.
