Description

Croyde Farmhouse is a house, likely dating from the 17th century. It is constructed of whitewashed rendered rubble and cob, with a thatched roof. The roof has gable end stacks made of rubble, with offsets and tapered tops, and brick additions. The house has two storeys, arranged around a through-passage, with single rooms of unequal proportions on each side. The front has a three-window arrangement. The left side features 18th or 19th century hornless sash windows, with 8 panes over 8 panes on each floor. The right side has 18th or 19th century three-light timber casements, with 6 panes per light in the upper storey and 8 panes per light in the lower storey. There is an off-centre doorway with a 20th-century door and hood. A two-light timber casement with 6 panes per light sits above the doorway. A lean-to with a slate roof is attached to the right end, and an outshut with a slate roof extends to the rear, with a pantiled extension on its right side.
