Description
Greendale Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from around 1700, likely built at the same time as Pill House, and may represent a remodelling of an earlier structure. It is constructed from plastered stone rubble and features a slate roof that is gabled at both ends, with stacks that have old brick shafts. The main part of the farmhouse forms part of a courtyard with Pill House, and it is believed that the farm may have once been associated with Pill House.
The main range of the building is single depth and consists of three rooms, heated by end stacks, with a front right wing that extends at right angles. The front facade is symmetrical with four windows and includes a projecting gabled porch, likely from the 19th century or later, which has a slate roof and a glazed door with small panes. The ground-floor windows have 20th-century glazing with small casements, while the first-floor windows are small-pane, two-light casements. The wing also features small-pane timber casements.
The interior has only been partially inspected; however, it includes exposed timbering in the entrance hall that is from the 20th century, along with some earlier joinery that remains.
