Description
Nos 3, 4, and 5 Clarence Place are three houses that are part of a five-house terrace built in the early 19th century. They feature solid rendered fronts and have slated roofs with three red brick chimneys along the ridge. The houses are two storeys high, with Nos 3 and 4 each having a two-window range, while No. 5 has a three-window range. Each house has a round-arched doorway to the left, with No. 3 featuring a six-panelled door that has a wreath-knocker, and its top two panels are now glazed. Nos 3 and 4 each have a two-storeyed canted bay window to the right, which is likely a mid to late 19th-century addition. Above the ground storey, there are dentilled cornices, and above the second storey, there are bracketed cornices. The windows are primarily six-paned sashes, with the middle upper-storey windows at No. 4 being two-paned. The left upper-storey window at No. 4 has four-paned sashes. All three houses have a continuous stepped eaves-board. The windows at No. 5 have external louvred shutters, and this house also features a small pointed-arched garret window in its right side wall. The interior has not been inspected.
