Description
Charnwood is a house built around the 1830s, featuring smooth-rendered mass wall construction and a slate roof. It has a brick chimney stack with a corbelled cornice and old terracotta pots. The building has a double-depth plan and is one room wide, standing two storeys tall. The front is asymmetrical but has a regular two-window arrangement. To the right, there is a round-headed doorway leading to an internal porch, which has a half-glazed door with an overlight. The ground-floor window is a tripartite horned sash with two-pane lights, and the centre light includes margin panes. On the first floor, there are two 16-pane sash windows, and one gabled dormer is present. The rear elevation features a 16-pane stair sash window. The interior has not been inspected but may contain interesting features. The house is included for its group value.
