Description
The Forge is a cottage dating from the 18th century, which was extended in the late 19th century. It is constructed from rendered stone and cob, topped with a hipped thatch roof. There is a lateral rendered stack on the rear left side, which is enclosed by an outshut. The building is situated at the corner of a crossroads and has a basic two-room plan, with a two-storey extension at the front that was formerly a shop, along with a rear outshut, both featuring corrugated iron roofs. The cottage is two storeys high and has irregular fenestration, primarily from the 19th century, with variously paned two-light casements. At the left end, there is a gabled timber porch with a plank door. The two-storey extension includes a small shop window with glazing bars and a four-panelled door to the left.
