Description
Ensis Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse constructed of rendered stone and cob, topped with a corrugated asbestos roof featuring gable ends. It has a stack at the right end and a rear lateral hall stack with offsets, a tapered cap, and a brick shaft. The layout consists of a three-room through-passage plan, although the passage now has a partition across it. The building is two storeys high and has a four-window range. The windows are 19th-century additions, all featuring two-light casements with eight panes per light, except for the three-light casements on either side of a slated gabled porch that includes a six-panelled door. Inside, there are chamfered lintels above the hall and lower fireplaces.
