Description

Lantern Cottage is a house located on West Street in Witheridge. It is probably from the 16th century but has been significantly altered in the 19th century and mid to late 20th century. The exterior features roughcast and colourwashed walls, with a thatched roof that is hipped to the left and a rendered stack rising from the left side. The building is two storeys high and has a symmetrical three-bay front, with 20th-century casement windows that have two lights. There are additional similar casements on the left side of the building, along with a door opening that features a 20th-century door. The interior has not been seen. Lantern Cottage was originally part of No 20, known as Primrose Cottage.
