Description
Sunset Temple, located approximately 230 metres north of Castle Hill House, is a temple dated 1831, which was rebuilt in the 20th century. It is constructed from concrete blocks faced in stone rubble and features timber columns. The temple has a pedimental slate roof and is rectangular in shape with an open front consisting of three bays. It is designed in the distyle in antis style, with two fluted timber Corinthian columns and end pilasters that support an entablature with a pediment and a moulded frieze. The date 1831 is inscribed on the soffit at the centre.
