Description
Sunrise Temple, located approximately 30 metres north-east of Castle Hill House, is a temple built in 1831. It is constructed from stone rubble and features timber columns. The structure has a rectangular shape and is open-fronted with three bays. It is designed in a distyle in antis, supported by two fluted timber Corinthian columns, although the left-hand column has been replaced. The temple has a straight entablature with a dentilled cornice, and the date "1831" is inscribed on the soffit at the centre. Inside, there is a coved ceiling and a four-plank door located in the centre of the rear wall, leading to a room in the rear lean-to. There is also a lean-to at the back of the temple.
