Description

Leigh House is a late 18th-century house located on the north side of West Street in Witheridge. The house is constructed with rendered and roughcast walls, showing rubble beneath, and has wide eaves and a slate gabled roof. The plan is of a single-room depth, with a central staircase hall connecting to reception rooms on the ground floor; the room to the right was likely a kitchen originally. The house is three storeys high. The first floor has two asymmetrical windows with four panes to each sash, while the second floor has a single window with twelve panes. On the ground floor is a single four-pane sash window. A door opening is positioned to the left of the ground floor, featuring a doorcase with pilasters, an entablature, and a cornice, all of wood. The door has panelled reveals and a panelled door. The interior has not been inspected.
