Description
Spreacombe Manor is a house built in 1826, with extensions added in the mid and late 19th century. The exterior features colour-painted stucco on a rubble base and is topped with a slate roof that has deep eaves and brick stacks. The building has a roughly symmetrical double depth plan with a central hallway. A mid-19th century wing was added to the left side, which was further extended to the rear in the late 19th century. The house is two storeys high and has long and short quoins.
There are two full-height bows, each with three 2-light casements on both floors, featuring three panes in each light. Above the central Doric porch, which has a pair of fluted columns and pilasters, is a half-glazed panelled door with two leaves. The left wing has a three-window range of 2-light casements. Inside, three principal rooms and the hall boast ornate plasterwork cornices, with two rooms featuring foliated centrepieces. The internal joinery is largely intact, and there is a dog-leg staircase with a moulded string and handrail, turned balusters, and newels topped with acorn finials.
