Description

WESTLEIGH WESTLEIGH SS 42 NE 3/137 Pair of gravestones at head and feet of Lake children's grave approximately 12 metres south- west of south-west corner GV II Pair of gravestones. Late C18. Slate. Segmental arch head. Headstone has representation of angel's bust in head above inscription recording deaths of Ann died 1794 and Edward, died 1799, daughter and son of James and Jane Lake. Stone at foot of grave carries verse: 'Sweet babes of light in Innocence carried, Shown to this world but for a better made Whose early flight to blissful climes unknown makes Angels sing and tender parents mourn.'
