Description
This is a pair of gravestones located at the head and feet of the Lake children's grave, situated approximately 12 metres south-west of the south-west corner. They date from the late 18th century and are made of slate. The headstone features a segmental arch head with a representation of an angel's bust above the inscription, which records the deaths of Ann, who died in 1794, and Edward, who died in 1799. They were the daughter and son of James and Jane Lake. The stone at the foot of the grave carries a verse that reads: 'Sweet babes of light in Innocence carried, Shown to this world but for a better made Whose early flight to blissful climes unknown makes Angels sing and tender parents mourn.'
