Description
Manor Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates back to the 18th century, although it may have earlier origins. It features a left-hand bay and rear extensions that were added in the 19th century. The building is constructed of colourwashed rendered rubble and cob, topped with a thatched roof that has gable ends, with the left end being coped. There are two stacks: one at the right gable end and an axial stack, both made of rubble with weathering, tapered caps, and added brick shafts.
The farmhouse has a rear courtyard plan, and the main range originally had a symmetrical layout, with the added bay on the left end. It is single room deep with outshuts, some of which have slate roofs while others are covered with corrugated iron. There is a large rubble stack with offsets at the rear. At the right-hand end, there is a long right-angled thatched extension that was formerly used as stables and is now an outbuilding. There is also a pantiled rubble extension on the third side of the courtyard.
The main range is two storeys high and has a five-window front. The first floor features three-light casements, each with eight panes. There is a projecting porch with a half-hipped thatch roof. To the left, there is a 19th-century hornless sash window with eight over eight panes, while to the right, there are double horned sash windows with four over four panes. The added bay on the left end has French windows. Inside, there are roughly chamfered beams in the rooms on either side of the entrance hall, but otherwise, the interior has been much altered.
