Description
KILMINGTON NORTON FERRIS ST 73 NE (east side) 3/78 Manor House and Manor Farmhouse GV II Farmhouse, now two dwellings. Probably early C18, altered mid C19. Rendered rubble stone, hipped Welsh slate roof, brick stacks. U- plan. Two-storey, 4-window. Planked door in corrugated iron porch to Manor Farm to left with 3-light casement to left and 6-pane sash, top-opening casement, planked door to Manor House and 3-light casement to right. First floor has four C19 nine-pane sashes. Right return has C19 twelve-pane sash to ground floor. Rear of main range has 16-pane sashes in recessed chamfered surrounds, 3- light recessed chamfered mullioned casement to first floor, wing to right has 12-pane sashes with keystones, gable end has semi- circular headed sash with keystone to attic, attached stair turret with Tudor-arched doorway. Interior of north part, Manor Farm, not accessible at time of survey (September 1986), Manor House has boxed beams, some good doors with 2 moulded panels, corner cupboard in south room with fielded panelled doors. Divided into two mid C20.
