Description

Manor Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early 18th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of dressed limestone and features a tiled roof with brick stacks, following an 'L' plan. The building is two stories high and has four windows, all of which are sashes. The 18th-century section includes double doors with a transom light set in a bolection-moulded case topped with a broken pediment on consoles. To the right of the doors are three 8-pane sashes in bolection-moulded cases with cornices. The first floor has four 8-pane sashes in bolection-moulded cases with cornices, along with a string course and blocking course at the roofline.

The left range features two 8-pane sashes in beaded architraves on both the ground and first floors, with a coped verge on the left gable. The left return has two ovolo-moulded 8-pane sashes, while the rear wing includes a 2-light ovolo-mullioned casement and a 19th-century mullioned casement on the ground floor, and three 4-pane sashes in bolection-moulded cases on the first floor. The right return, made of brick, has a stone bull's eye and a 1-light casement. The rear has been extended using 17th-century brick and features 12-pane sashes and a 2-light casement, with the rear wing having 2-light casements facing a yard that is enclosed on two sides by single-storey outbuildings.

Inside, there is a 19th-century staircase with stick balusters and a turned newel in the left range, along with 4-panelled doors. The 18th-century range contains doors with six fielded panels and window shutters with fielded panels, as well as a semi-circular opening in the entrance hall. At the front, there are flanking brick walls with stone coping, 19th-century cast-iron railings on brick dwarf walls, and well-crafted 18th-century chamfered rusticated stone piers with corniced capping and ball finials in reeded bowls, along with wooden gates.
