Description
Little Croft is a detached cottage dated 1737, as indicated by the inscription on a moulded stone tablet above the door. The building is constructed of English garden wall bond brick and features a thatched roof with gable end brick stacks. It is two storeys high with three windows, all fitted with casements. The central door, which is from the 19th century, has six panels and is set within a beaded architrave, accompanied by a gabled porch. To the left of the door is a 2-light recessed chamfered mullioned casement, and to the right is a 3-light casement. The first floor features a moulded string course and two 2-light mullioned casements. The cottage has stone quoins.
Attached to the left side is a 18th-century bay addition made of rubble stone, which includes a 2-light recessed chamfered mullioned casement on both the ground and first floors. The left return wall, also in rubble stone, has a 2-light casement on the ground floor and a coped verge. The right return features a 2-light mullioned window on both the ground and first floors. At the rear, there is a lean-to extension. The interior was not accessible during the survey conducted in June 1985.
