Description
Cote Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from around 1700, with an extension added in the late 18th century. It is constructed of coursed rubblestone and features a thatched roof with coped verges and brick stacks at the gable ends. The building is two storeys high and has three windows across the front. The central entrance consists of a six-panelled door set within a beaded stone architrave, with two-light chamfered mullioned casements on either side. On the first floor, there are three two-light mullioned casements.
To the left, there is a one-bay late 18th-century addition that includes two-light mullioned casements on the ground floor and an eyebrow dormer, which has a lower roofline. The right side of the building features a lean-to shed. At the rear, there is a planked door and two two-light mullioned casements within a conservatory, along with three two-light mullioned casements on the first floor and one hipped attic dormer with a two-light casement.
Inside, the farmhouse has a deep chamfered beam and cupboards with fielded panelled doors and H-L hinges in the room to the left of the entrance. There are Victorian fireplace surrounds and 18th-century doors with fielded panels. The former cheese room and dairy at the rear still have their original flagstone floors.
