Description
The Second World War training pillbox at Putsborough Sands is situated on a cliff about 150 meters from the coast. The structure is oriented east to west, with its main face facing north-west towards the sea, and is built into a grassed bank. It is made of shuttered concrete, which has a rippled texture on the front where the shuttering used corrugated metal sheeting. There are several metal fixings on the top of the pillbox, though their purpose is unknown. At the base of the front face, there is a small recessed opening that is approximately 1 meter deep with canted concrete sides.
