Description

Nos. 81 and 82 High Street is a house that has been converted into a shop, dating from the early 19th century. It features a red brick front and a slated roof, with red brick chimneys on each gable end, which have been rebuilt at the tops. The building stands three storeys high and has a three-window range. The ground storey has been completely rebuilt to accommodate a late 20th-century shop front. The windows on the upper storeys have flat arches with stepped cement voussoirs and consist of 8-paned sashes, although the lower sashes in the second storey have 12 panes. A prominent boxed eaves cornice adds to the architectural detail. The interior has not been inspected.
