Description

This barn, located approximately 40 metres south-west of Umberleigh House and Barton, likely dates from the late 17th century. It is constructed of stone rubble and cob, topped with a hipped corrugated iron roof. The barn features a symmetrical layout with central opposing threshing doors. On the north side, there is a massive 17th-century chamfered door surround with old double plank doors. Inside, there are nine trusses with straight principals that support three tiers of threaded purlins and a ridge purlin.
