Description

Dobbs Cottage is a house that likely dates from the late 16th century or early 17th century. It is constructed of stone rubble with a rendered cob upper storey and has an asbestos slate roof. The building features a tall front lateral hall stack with a tapered cap that has been heightened in brick. The layout consists of a 3-room and cross-passage plan, and it stands two storeys high with a three-window range. The windows are of 20th-century design, all being 2-light casements, except for the right end upper storey which has a 3-light window. There is a gabled porch with a cross-passage doorway that has a 4-centred arched chamfered surround with pyramid stops. The inner room section is slightly recessed and has two pigeon holes to the left of the upper storey window. The interior is not accessible.
