ATHERINGTON ATHERINGTON SS 52 SE 5/16 Dobbs Cottage -

GV II

House. Probably late C16 or early C17. Stone rubble and rendered cob to upper storey. Asbestos slate roof. Tall front lateral hall stack with tapered cap, heightened in brick. 3-room and cross-passage plan. 2 storeys. 3-window range. C20 fenestration, all 2-light casements except to right end upper storey which is 3 lights. Gabled porch. 4-centred arched chamfered surround with pyramid stops to cross-passage doorway. The inner room section is recessed slightly with 2 pigeon holes to the left of the upper storey window. Interior not accessible.
