Description

The property is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century, with alterations from the 19th century and an extension built in the 20th century. It is constructed of painted rendered stone and cob, with a slate roof with gable ends. A truncated stone rubble stack is located at the left gable end, and a lateral hall stack to the rear has offsets, heightened in brick. The original plan was a 3-room through-passage, with a 2-storey right-angled extension added to the rear right end, creating an L-shaped footprint. The farmhouse has two storeys and a 4-window front. Most windows are sash windows with margin glazing bars; the right-hand end has 20th-century fenestration. A slate-covered lean-to porch with a 20th-century door is present at the front. The interior has been extensively altered in the 20th century, although two worn 17th-century door surrounds remain at the base and head of the stairs within the through-passage. The roof space is inaccessible, but the timbers over the right end were replaced in the 20th century when the walls were raised.
