Description

Batten's Bridge is a bridge that carries a minor road over the Grand Western Canal. The canal was established under an Act of 1796, with the section in Halberton completed in 1814. The bridge is constructed in brick using English bond, featuring stone coping. It has an elliptical arch that is skewed, a brick string course, and round-headed coping stones on the parapet, some of which have been repaired.
