SAMPFORD PEVERELL TURNPIKE, Sampford Peverell ST 01 SW 8/155 Milestone at ST 029 141 - - II Roadside milestone. Late C18 - early C19. Volcanic ashlar. Upright round-headed slab standing approximately 1.2 metres high. The front has an Ordnance Survey bench mark cut into the head. The inscription below is in plain upper and lower case lettering and reads; Tiverton 3, Wellington IX.
