Description
Morrels Farmhouse is a Grade II listed farmhouse dating from the early to mid-19th century. It is constructed of plastered stone rubble with stone rubble stacks that are topped with 19th and 20th-century brick, and it has a slate roof. The house has an L-shaped plan, with the main block facing northwest onto the street. It features a three-room layout with a central entrance hall that contains the main stair. To the right of the hall is a larger room with a gable-end stack. There is a rear one-room service block that projects at right angles and slightly overlaps the left end of the main block, featuring a stack that backs onto the main section. The farmhouse is two storeys tall and has a five-window front with original 16-pane sash windows, although the arrangement is not quite symmetrical due to uneven spacing. The central doorway has a part-glazed six-panel door beneath a deep flat hood supported by shaped brackets. The interior has not been inspected, but original joinery and other details are suspected to be present.
