Description
Redgate is a range of five cottages, likely divided from a larger dwelling, dating from the 16th or 17th century. The cottages are constructed from rendered cob and rubble, topped with a roof made of natural and artificial slate, featuring rendered stacks. The building has an L-shaped plan, with a lateral stack on the range facing Bartow's Causeway and a ridge stack on the probably earlier right-angle range at the rear right.
The exterior is two storeys high, with 19th-century small-paned casements and 20th-century windows throughout, along with 20th-century doors and lean-tos, as well as flat-roofed extensions. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest.
