Description
Nos. 1, 2, and 3 Lawn Cottages are a row of three cottages dating from the 18th century, possibly a refashioning of an earlier building. They are whitewashed and rendered with a slate roof that is hipped at the right end and gabled at the left end. The cottages feature a left end stack, an axial stack, and a rear right lateral stack, all with brick shafts.
The plan likely consists of three adjoining cottages, with the left-hand cottage (No. 3) having a front door to the right, the center cottage (No. 2) with a central entrance, and the right-hand cottage (No. 1) also having a front door to the right. The exterior is two storeys high with an asymmetrical five-window front. The front elevation, which faces Jubilee Green, has a slight curve at the right end. No. 3 has a plank front door, No. 2 features a panelled door, and No. 1 has a half-glazed 20th-century front door. The windows throughout are 12-pane sashes without horns.
The interior has not been inspected but may contain features of interest. The cottages have an unspoiled front elevation and are located on an important corner site on Jubilee Green.
