Description
Coombeshead Farmhouse is a mid-19th century estate farmhouse. It features incised stucco and a dry slate roof with projecting eaves. The roof has three gabled dormers that contain original two-light casements. There are brick stacks, one on the left gable and another axial stack on the right. The building has a long double-depth plan and is two storeys plus an attic.
The exterior has a two-to-five window range with original hornless sash windows that have thin glazing bars. There are latticed porches with low-pitched gable roofs located under the second-from-left and fourth-from-left bays of the main part. Each porch has three-pane overlights and six-panel doors. An oriel window is present on the first floor at the right-hand end.
The interior has not been inspected. This farmhouse is a good example of its type and is of particular interest due to its association with a fine group of farm buildings, contributing to the overall character of the model farm.
