Description
Coombutler Farmhouse is an estate farmhouse that appears to date from the mid-19th century, likely a remodelling of a 17th-century house. The building has rendered walls and a dry slate roof with two levels, featuring projecting eaves and verges, along with brick end stacks and a central rear lateral stack.
The farmhouse is two storeys high with an attic and has a five-window range. The three-window range on the right is symmetrically arranged around a central doorway, which features early to mid-19th-century 16-pane hornless sash windows and a six-panel door with fielded panels. This door is set within a simple late 19th-century open wooden porch that has diagonal boarding on the sides. On the left side, there is a slightly recessed range that includes a 20th-century casement window above an older three-light casement window, which has 15 panes per light.
The interior has not been inspected but is likely to retain features that could provide evidence for dating the building.
