Description
Chiddlecombe Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early to mid 17th century, with alterations and a widened roof pitch made in the late 19th century. The building features colourwashed render over coursed slatestone rubble and has a gabled slate roof. There are late 19th century brick stacks at both ends, along with a truncated stone stack from the 17th century on the left end and a stone rear lateral stack finished in late 19th century brick. The farmhouse has a three-unit plan with a central hall and stands two storeys tall with a four-window range. A gabled late 19th century porch is located to the left of the centre. The ground floor has flat rendered arches over late 19th century tripartite sash windows, while the first floor features late 19th century three-light casements with glazing bars. Inside, there are 17th century chamfered beams on the ground floor, and a reset 17th century plank and muntin partition with ovolo-moulded muntins and rails in the centre. The first floor has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest.
