Description

The granite war memorial is located at the road junction at Eggesford Fourways. It is designed as a plain Latin cross, standing on a three-stage base. The top stage features the inscription "1914 – 1919," which is incised into the front face. The main dedication, which was heavily weathered as of 2017, is on the front face of the middle stage and reads, "IN PROUD AND HONOURED MEMORY OF THE FOLLOWING MEN WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES FOR GOD, KING AND COUNTRY IN THE GREAT WAR," followed by a list of names. The memorial is surrounded by rails and a low kerb.
