Description

Knapton War Memorial is made from rough-hewn granite and features a Latin cross that rises from a plinth with polished recessed panels containing lead inscriptions. The memorial is set on a single-stepped square base.

The front face of the plinth displays an inscription that reads: "TO THE GLORY OF GOD AND IN PROUD AND GRATEFUL MEMORY OF THE MEN OF THIS PARISH WHO FELL IN THE GREAT WAR 1914 – 1918 (NAMES)."

Another face of the plinth includes the inscription for the Second World War, which states: "AND THE WORLD WAR 1939 – 1945 (NAMES)."
