Description
Beech Cottage and Forge Cottage are a pair of houses dating from the late 17th century. They are constructed of coursed flint with brick dressings and feature a thatched roof. The buildings are two storeys high and have two 20th-century doors set beneath segmental arches. To the left of the Forge Cottage door, there is a 3-light 18th-century casement window, while to the right of the Beech Cottage door is an altered 18th-century 3-light casement, along with a further 20th-century window at the end of the facade in the original doorway. The upper windows have all been replaced with 20th-century versions in altered openings. The gabled roof has a diamond flued ridge stack located left of centre on a square plinth, which has been partly rebuilt, and a 20th-century ridge stack to the right. The gable heads are supported by kneelers. At the rear, there are early 19th-century two-storey outshuts.
