Description
This barn, located approximately 8 meters north-west of Tillerton Farmhouse, is likely from the 18th century. It is constructed of cob on rubble footings and features a gable-ended roof covered with corrugated iron, which was originally thatch. The barn has two storeys and faces south-east. A large doorway is positioned slightly to the right of the center and contains an early folding plank door. To the right of the doorway, there is presumably a reused 12-pane sash window, and to the left, there is a first-floor loading bay that is off-center. Under the eaves, there is a series of pigeon holes with slate floors, consisting of three on the left and two on the right. The roof is a three-bay structure made up of plain A-frame trusses with pegged lap-jointed collars.
