Description
This barn, located approximately 20 meters south of West Ford Farmhouse, likely dates from the late 18th century to early 19th century. It is constructed of cob on rubble footings, with some 20th-century brick repairs, and features a corrugated iron roof that was originally thatch, gabled at both ends. The barn has two storeys facing north into the farmyard, with a door and a first-floor loading bay situated at the right end. A cob and rubble outshot, which occupies most of the front and has a monopitch roof that extends down from the eaves of the main roof, is believed to be original. The roof structure consists of four bays with plain A-frame trusses and pegged, lap-jointed collars. This barn is included for its group value with the nearby farmhouse.
