Description

SX 86 NE BROADHEMPSTON FORDER GREEN 1/83 Barn approximately 30 metres - to north-west of Forder House - II Barn. Probably C17. Rubble walls, extended slightly in cob at left hand gable end. Thatched roof at present covered externally with corrugated iron, hipped to left, gabled to right. Single cell plan with loft but probably originally extended further to the right-hand end. Single storey. Cart entrance to left over which the roof extends in a pentice supported on heavy timbers at either side. Narrow opposing doorway on rear wall. At right gable-end is first floor loading doorway. Interior : contains original heavy roughly chamfered cross beams with one embedded in the right hand gable end wall. Probably original roof timbers with straight principals which have the collars set in and pegged to them.
