Description

DENMARK ROAD 1. 1092 Martyrs' Memorial SX 9292 NE 4/293 29.1.53. II 2. Erected at Junction of Barnfield Hill and Denmark Road 1909. Granite obelisk with bronze reliefs to base by Harry Hems. Commemorates the martyrdom in Exeter of Thomas Benet, 1531 and Agnes Prest 1557.
