Description

PROSPECT PLACE 1. 1633 Mocha Cafe SY 1287 1/113 II GV 2. Early C19 of 3 and 2 storeys stuccoed. The 3 storey part adjoins Prospect Cafe. 3 windows 2nd floor and 2 large French windows 1st floor in architrave surrounds. Tent roof balcony with trellis supports and fascia cut to trefoil pattern. Splayed bay windows ground floor, one modern. The 2 storey corner block with Esplanade is probably an older building also considerably altered. Stuccoed with steep pitch hipped slate roof, boxed eaves. 2 windows to Prospect Place, the balcony with later balustrade and no canopy continued to corner. Ground floor modernised. Esplanade front has 3 large sash windows 1st floor, one rectangular bay and dormers. Modern casements ground floor. Despite alterations remains suitably in scale.

The Prospect Cafe and Mocha Cafe form a group with the Beach House on the Esplanade.
