Description

Beckford Cottage is a circa 17th/18th century cottage situated at an angle to the road in Stockland. It has a thatched roof with gabled and half-hipped ends and eyebrow eaves. The original part of the cottage is one storey and attic, with a three-window front, though a one-bay modern addition has been built to the east, featuring a slate roof. Modern casement windows with glazing bars are present. A brick chimney stack rises from the gable end facing the road. Modern plank doors are located on the south side, to the left and right. Inside, the cottage retains stopped chamfer ceiling beams with run-out stops and a fireplace featuring a chamfered bressumer and stone jambs.
