Description
Dares Farmhouse is an 18th and early 19th century house situated on Swan Hill Road, Colyford. The house is built of plastered stone and has a thatched roof with gabled ends. The front façade curves to follow the line of the road. It is two storeys high with three bays, featuring sash windows with glazing bars. The central glazed and panelled door is sheltered by a modern gabled porch. Brick chimney stacks are at each end of the house. A long range extends to the left (north-west) with a lower roof of bitumenised slate, stepped at two levels. This section has two storeys, a three-window range, first-floor sash windows, and ground-floor casements.
