Description

Purzebrook House is an 18th-century house, originally a single dwelling but now divided into two separate residences. It is constructed of coursed stone with an asbestos slate roof featuring gabled ends. The building has two storeys and nine bays. Most windows are sash windows with glazing bars, set beneath flat stone arches. A 19th-century splayed bay window replaces the original window on the ground floor to the right. The central doorway is distinguished by fluted pilasters and an entablature topped with a keyblock and broken pediment; the original panelled door has been replaced with a glazed version. A modern glazed porch has been added to the right of the centre. Chimney stacks are roughcast and situated along the ridge of the roof.
