Description
Dunscombe Cottage is likely a 16th-century, small cob and thatched former farmhouse, with a later addition to the southwest. The cottage presents a gabled bay to the road. A chimney is visible on the west end. Windows are wood casements, some of which have been renewed. The interior retains several original features including two open fireplaces with bread ovens. A notable feature is an unusual spiral staircase constructed with solid wood treads, possibly of bog oak. A doorway is present with a chamfered 4-centred arch, and numerous heavy beams are also visible.
