Description

Pauntley Cottage is an early 19th-century octagonal lodge that is single storey with an attic. It is finished in stucco and features a thatched roof. The eaves extend out to create a verandah, which is supported by thin posts with curved brackets that meet at the apex to form pointed arches. The cottage has 2-light iron-framed casement dormers with pointed heads, and the thatch is 'eyebrowed' over these dormers. On the ground floor, there is a Gothic diamond-glazed casement window. Additionally, there is a single-storey extension, also thatched, which includes one window and a plain cottage door. The overall appearance of the cottage is picturesque.
