Description
The premises occupied by Knight and Sons Drapers, previously known as the Old Coffee Tavern, is an early 19th-century stucco house located on the east side of Fore Street. This building forms a corner block where the street narrows and features a hipped gable roof covered with slate. It has two storeys and an attic.
On the first floor, facing Fore Street, there is a wide French window, while the west front has one sash window in a moulded flush frame. The ground floor consists of a shop with windows on both fronts, and the entrance is set across the angle of the building. The original frieze and cornice are still present, adding to its architectural character.
The two premises occupied by Knight and Sons are part of a group of buildings.
