Description
This milestone, located on the north side of the A30, 20 meters north-north-east of the junction with the B3185, dates from the late 18th century or early 19th century. It features a square base with the inscription '171 MILES TO LONDON' incised on it, along with a benchmark. The shaft is triangular in shape, with the west face displaying '11 MILES TO HONITON, 5 MILES TO EXETER' and the east face showing '5 MILES TO EXETER, 11 MILES TO HONITON'.
