Description
Milestone located at SX 987937, likely from the late 18th century, made of granite. It is an upright slab approximately 1.8 meters high. The base is square in section, transitioning to a triangular shape above, featuring broad roll stops and a segmental head. The upper front sides are angled forward and have plain upper and lower case lettering. The front of the lower section states "172 Miles to London," while the left canted side indicates "12 Miles to Honiton" and "4 Miles to Exeter," and the right canted side also shows "4 miles to Exeter" and "12 Miles to Honiton."
